I live in the lower level of my landlord's house, it's a private house and he lives there with his wife and 2 teenage stepchildren. The boys are loud, obnoxious and downright inconsiderate. It is now 12:03am here in New York. They are having a party or friends over or whatever, but my landlord works nights and I'm not sure if his wife is home or not, but the boys are home and I am unable to even get any rest because it's all going on right over my head. I called them upstairs 30 minutes ago and asked if they could please tone it down a bit, I got yea yea, sure.. after ten minutes they were still screaming, yelling, talking loud, banging on the floor (or stomping, whatever) and the music is still loud. I work a very stressful job and I look forward to coming home and getting some rest.. so I called my landlord 15 minutes ago, apologized for bothering him at work and explained the situation to him, he said he would call them... weather or not he did it hasn't changed the situation because the party is still going strong.

I pay my rent on time, I don't bother anyone and I can't get common courtesy. I've been a good tenant for the 4 years that I've been living here, but it seems the older his kids get the more obnoxious they get (and the parents aren't any better) I'm actively looking for a new apartment, but with the way things are right now It's nearly impossible to find something affordable. Is there any kid of legal action I can take or do I just have to deal with this nonsense?
