I have a ten week old dachshund puppy. Whenever I return home from school or anywhere she whines nonstop for about an hour. How do I act towards her, because I don't want to reward the crying, but I have a heart :P?

She's probably happy to see you and eager for attention. When I come home every day one of my dogs goes into a loud talking fit, as if to nag me for being gone so long while the other one pinballs herself around the house.

The rule of thumb to stop this behaviour is pretty simple, but seems heartless, it isn't, so no worries.
When you first enter the home ignore your dog. No talk, no touch, no eye contact, just walk in and pretend he isn't there. When he calms down that's when he gets attention, and not a minute sooner.
If he realizes that he won't get any attention until he stops whining and barking, he'll soon stop doing it.
Good luck and enjoy your pup. :)

The thing is that she is crated when I am gone. And today she whined for about thirty minutes straight and wouldn't go to the bathroom when I took her outside. I think its just because she is young and she missed me :P
