No insurance on my 06 maxima lease. Turning it in march 15. Did 8k worth of damage (no one got the ticket) 2 weeks ago. Should I just give it back? Don't they have forced insurance?

Yeah - you are going to be held responsible for that 8k in damages.

Consult your lease agreement paperwork to see if they had insurance on the vehicle and that was part of your lease contract. In most cases I believe you are responsible for having insurance.

In some states not having current auto insurance results in having your driver's license suspended. If you were in Ohio with no insurance you would have gotten one of those dandy license suspension letters for not having insurance.

Issue here is, that you will be responsible for the damage, or the lower value, ( ever how the contract names it)

And you were liable to carry insurance not only ( I would bet) by contract, since it was not furnished, but by state law.

So if the car is suppose to have a 20,000 value upon return and it has a 10,000 value, you are going to be held responsible for the differnce, so just take your check book with you, when you go to turn it in.
