The heating element turns on for about a minute then it shuts off. I have just discovered after it shuts off there isn't any power coming from the motor any more. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Tarpley- The power to operate the heating element don't come from the motor no how ::
When this happens ,have you checked to see if the breaker or fuses tripped or blew when you lost power on the motor?? I believe that ,when the heating element comes on that there is a short and the heat protector shuts the element off :; YOU COULD HAVE A ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE SYSTEM< IT COUKLD BE THE HEATING ELEMENT IS GROUNED OUT <OR DEFECTIVE :: OR IT COULD BE IN THE MOTOR :: THE ELEMENT IS 220volt and the motor is only 110volts:: THE only way you are going to find the problem is by doing some testing and very strong looking searching fthe wires for a shorted place , if you need me to I can give you step by step of testing the parts to see if they are good or bad;; ( The heating element, for 2 things; the selector switch. ;the thermostat;;
The start switch) and you will have to do the hard looking for the short ]] LET ME KNOW::
