I tried to turn my heater on but did not go on,I went to my garage heard the motor humming but the fan did not go on,what could be the problem?please help.the unit is a Lennox Elite series.:

My first thought is that your motor is stuck from bad bearings. Take the front off the furnace and see if you can spin the squirl cage with your hand, it should spin very easily. If it is tight to turn then you can turn on the furnace and wait till you hear the humming, as it is humming try again to spin the wheel with your hand. This might make it run but does not mean that your problem is sloved, it just proves that the motor might be bad or it might be the capacitor if you have on on the furnace. The capacitor is very cheap so I would change that before I did the motor.

Was it the blower motor not working or the inducer motor(vent motor)?
