How do I obtain a copy of my W-2 for 2008 so I don't have towait for the company to send it? I am in desperate need of filing my taxes ASAP due to financial reasons. PLEASE HELP!! :confused:

You can't. They have to be mailed before the end of January. I don't recall the exact date. Nothing compels an employer to prepare them sooner - unless it's a small employer, willing to accommodate you, you can't get the form earlier.

Most tax professionals can file your return with your last 2008 pay stub if you have a 2007 W-2 from the same employer from which the tax pro to get the employer's EIN.

Also, H&R Block has a program where they will lend you the refund until you get the W-2.

If your employer has a website, see if it's available on line. If not, it's been suggested that an Accountant can use your last pay stub.

Otherwise you have to depend on the US Mail.
