I am looking at installing an archway in a non-loadbearing wall between two bedrooms. I was given an estimate of $650.00 by an independent contractor. Does this sound reasonable?

That's a very good price
1st day get materials and set up job cut out wall and wrap new jack studs with drywall set up arch
! Day labor $275.00 bare min
3 more hours touch sanding and re coat.
5 more hours and finish cleanup etc
I'm a G.C. and that's sound right on the mark if he is taking it from start to finish and if a big arch that's cheap just for labor to a finish product

I agree with 21boat but to be sure just ask 2 more contractors for their free bid.
