My 18 y/o got a ticket in Oct 2008 for underage drinking. He was on private property, and no one else who was drinking got a ticket, not even the 22 y/o who purchased and provided. My son appeared in the county court (anderson county TN) on the date and time the ticket stated. The court had NO record of the ticket being issued. The judge thanked my son for showing, and appologized for wasting his time, and dismissed the ticket. Last week, we received a summons to juvenille court, for the same thing.. can they do this? What about the adult who purchased?

Hello tn:

Complaining that other people got away with it, ISN'T going to do your son any good. Defending what HE did, is all that's important.

Can they do this? I don't see why not, unless the OTHER judge dismissed the ticket "with" prejudice. If so, that means they can't bring charges again. That probably didn't happen, but it's a shot. There IS a record of what was said in that court.

Does not matter about the other people, unless you want to try and turn him in for a lesser sentence.

But Juv court is much better.
