HELLO,

I am a first time user, so please bear with me. My brother (54 years old) is completely disabled, he has the worst stage of Multiple Sclerosis (primary progressive). We are trying to put in a much need handicap bathroom/shower as he is wheel chair/scooter limited and can not walk or use his right side of his body.

What I am asking is, are there any FREE grants (Buffalo NY) available for the (help of)construction costs of this bathroom.

Thanks

Bob

I am not aware of any such State Government program in NYS. Is he a veteran? There are associations which provide this type of assistance but you would have to seek them out in your area.

Here is a Federal site: http://www.home-improvement-and-financing.com/home-improvement-grants-for-disabled.html.

Often grants are handled by social service agenies on a local level.
Talk to social agenies, talke to religious groups and also other non profits. Check with both the city and county government to see if there are programs they are aware of
