Ok I want to have a smooth face but every time I shave down not every hair comes off. And when I shave against the grain it hurts and I get cut. I don't know what to do. I have been reading to keep shaving with the grain. I have been doing this for a month. But I want to have a completely smooth shave and I don't think this is going to work. Usually when I shave against the grain I would shave down first(with the grain) and then up(against the grain). I also know that the best time to shave is after a shower. Should I just start to shave against the grain right off the shower and that's it every day. Well thank you very much for your help.

Just shave after taking shower but before you start put some shaving cream on your finger tipe and do a full face massage for about 10 min. Then after than rinse your face and again but some shaving cream and start against the grain you won't feel any pian or cut yourself.
Tip: after done shaving bring a small bath towel and wash it under warm water and while it's wet cover your fase with for 1 min and then you tell how smooth your face will be..

I have shaved with a blade all my life. The electric razors I had tried didn't shave me close enough. Then my uncle died and I got his Norelco 5481 XL. I was amazed at the close shave it gave me. Just as close as a blade with no razor burn. Needless to say that's the one I use daily now. If you are like me with a tender skin who thought that a electric razor didn't shave close enough, I urge you to give a electric razor a test drive. You might just be surprised. Good luck, Tom

Try applying some shaving oil under foam or gel for a really comfortable and close shave.
