I am 32 going on 33 in April.
I started my period when I was about 15. Due to the fact my periods were never regular and I could go weeks / months with out one and then loads at one time.

I was put on the contraceptive Pill when I turned 18.

Since this time I have been on every pill going! Most of them do not agree with me and I got all kinds of problems

Here is my pill history

Trnodiol from 1994-2000 I stopped due to break though bleeding (2 periods )

Ovisman 2000-2001 stopped gained loads of weight and my breasts became really painful.(2 periods)

Celest 2002 (only 6 months) stopped really painful cramps , bleeding really heavy and tenderness again.(2 periods)

Microgium 2002(only 6 months) stopped very heavy bleeding really painful periods, killer cramp and made me really sensitive and I would cry about anything! (2 periods)

Noriman 2002- 2003 (only 3 months this time) same as above (2 periods)

Femodene 2003-2003 stopped due to extreme headaches, tenderness and very painful periods (2 periods)

Trinordiol 2004-2005 stopped due to weight gain, however no other complaints went from a size 10 to a 16! (I am not a couch potato and I eat properly ) (2 periods)

Tri- Minuet 2006 (2 months) worst pill ever! Headaches for days on end, really super moody, aggressive, feeling dizzy and sick. During my period I got cold sweats and violently hot within seconds. Tenderness and stop start period most of the month
(2 periods)

Trinordiol 2006- 2007 stopped put loads of weight on again and started to get lower lumber pain every month that got worse towards periods. Otherwise a dull aching in my lower lumber. (2 periods)

Yasmin 2007-present
During the above I have always had 2 periods that start on day 11 of my pill and finish on day17 and then when I finish my proper one comes a longs

Since January 2008 I have had 2 job changes and finally settle at an insurance company and really loving this. Job.

My period from day 11 to 17 seems to be getting a little heavier every month.

Once many years ago a GP told me that my periods could be affected by stress and this would make they do odd things and not to worry about it.

is it simply because of the changes I have been through over the last year or it is were I am getting older, as I know you body changes every few years.

Would suggest you see a GYN doctor. You could possibly have a cyst growing on your ovary that is causing the problem with too many periods a month. Maybe the GYN can also figure out what the problem is that you don't take to the other birth control pills and try something completely different.

It's quite possible due to the pill. Have heard of other women having unusual bleeding on Yasmin. It sounds as though your body just does not agree with any hormonal contraception. Some women find they just can't use them and have to find alternatives.

As twinkiedooter suggested, see about getting a referral to a gynaecologist. They may be better able to discuss the situation than your gp at this point.
