I am installing a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan with a remote control. The trouble I'm having is with the remote receiver. There are two wires that connect to the home wiring a white and a black wire. I know they connect to the white and black home wire, but I also have a home wire that is red, and I do not know what this wire connects to in regards to the remote receiver. We previously had a ceiling fan that was controlled by two separate light switches, and for the lights and one for the fan, if this helps any in answering my question.

PEACE

I for got to add. There is also a bare copper wire coming from my ceiling, and this is the ground, so I know the red wire is not ground.

If you connect the black receiver wire to the black wire, the fan switch will control it. If you connect it to the red wire the light switch will control it.
