I am installing a light kit on my outdoor ceiling fan. Should the white block holding all of the wires be removed? Or should I just plug in the two wires on the light kit into the block? How will I know positive from negative? Thanks.

There should be two loose wires capped off, marked for light. They are usually white and blue.
