First, you need to learn to read instructions. I moved your post from the Intriductions forum which is clearly marked as NOT the place to ask questions. At 12 you should understand that you need to follow instructions.
Second, the first thing you need to do is make sure your talent is evaluated. Are you in your school or church chorus? Is there a music teacher you can discuss your goals with and who can appraise your talent?
Once you know whether you have to talent to succeed, the work starts. Do not expect to become a "celeb". It may happen or it may not. There are plenty of people who make a living out of entertaining but who aren't famous. What you will need to do is work at your craft. Be constantly on the lookout for talent auditions that you can go to.

Hello charley:
The singing "business" is records or touring. THAT is how singers make money. You don't have to be a GOOD singer to succeed. You DO have to know the singing business, though.
So, I doubt at 12, and with no records under your belt, that you're going to get a job in a club or touring.. So, you're left with selling records.
That's not hard to do these days. With the right computer equipment, you can make a record right in your bedroom and sell it on the internet. If you have any musician friends, that'll make it even better.
Ever hear of Nine Inch Nails? That's just a guy in his bedroom making music by himself...
Course, it's not QUITE that easy, but you can certainly do it...

So this is your dream young one? I want you to sing, sing, sing, and keep singing, OK? You sing your heart out. You sing what's in your heart. You feel what you sing. People are going to look at you one day and know that you are really feeling and expressing what you are singing. But yes my dear, you need to see what level you are at. If you love to sing and I know you do, take lessons. Take lots of lessons and practice as much as you can when you're not taking lessons as long as you still get your school work done. No I can't say for sure if you will make it big but I'm going to guess you'll at least try out for American Idol one day. If you don't get in, you try try again! And that's only if you'll need to, that is, if you haven't been noticed by then. Does your family or teachers know that this is your dream young one?? You have a lot going for you. Your inner beauty, your youth, your strong desire to sing and the evident passion you have for it so spread those wings and fly little beauty! Please let us know how you do and don't get discouraged or give up now, OK?? I want to be able to say, "I knew you when.......you posted a thread on askmehelpdesk"
(P.S.) Don't worry about the mistake you made re: posting. I've done worse on here and I'm much older than you. You're human sweetie but the man just wants you to succeed and that is why he points this out to you about following instructions.
Smiles at you beautiful one!
