We have had a storage building about 18 months we made arrangements with the landlord that we pay every three months had done it that way for alomost two years. I call on Tuesday and say I'll be in Monday , they said fine
Friday the sold the contents of my building at a silent auction, and my personal stuff was dissposed of gone through and re sold
I contacted the landlord and he said oopss and call the buyer who calld me back I thanked him for the call and told him I would pay what he had for the building and extra $200 for his trouble if he would return what ever he had left and maybe told me where my pictures and personal papers were disposed at. He said wonderful OK, I'll call you right back, never herd from the bloke again. The landlord all the sudden won't speak to me... my family and I are so broken hearted... what are my rights and can I sue?
Thanks

Hello portia:

Sure you can sue. Will you win?? I don't know. Do you have a written lease?? Do you have receipts??

If you have a written contract for the storage space then you can sue and win. The problem is you are going to have to prove the value of your belongings.

It wasn't up to you to contact the buyer. The owner of the storage facility should have done that since it was their mistake.
