I have one tub in the basement on top of a concrete floor which is already plumbed. I have another tub (hot tub) in which I would like to plumb. This tub is about fifteen feet away on the other side of the wall from the first already plumbed tub. I was wondering rather than busting up concrete and splicing into the main cast iron sewage pipe if I could run a pvc through the wall and connect to the only pipe I can see which happens to be the already installed tub. I would be splicing in approximatly an inch below where the drain and the overflow from the already plumbed tub meet. If this in itself is workable, are there any other issues I may be confronted with? I think I have about a foot drop over a 15 foot run? Is that too much or too little? Being that the vent pipe on the original tub is installed after its p trap and fifteen feet away will it be sufficient?

Thanks in advance

By Code, you cannot connect 2 tubs into one trap. If you do, it may work - if you use one tub at the time. Also, you have plenty of slope to work with.

This is one of those deals where the only people that know about it are you and I and I am not going to tell anyone. It will work, you will not be draining your hot tub every day, so I don't think it will interfer with the old tub.

Gerald: as Letmetellu said, the only technical problem you will have when you will operate both tubs at the same time. In this instance, both drains will be "choking" and drainage will be slow.
