A few months ago, I had my blonde hair professionally (semipermanent) darkened to a chocolate brown color. The color was too dark, so I used Prell shampoo to get the color to fade more quickly. I got the shade I wanted, but it ended up with a olive-green tint. I decided to try an at-home color for the first time. Since I was happy with the shade - I just wanted to enhance it and get rid of the green - I bought a shade that was very close to the current shade. Long story short, the new color had golden tones in it and now my hair has a red undertone - which I was completely trying to avoid.
I think I heard that getting an ashy tone will counteract the red, but I also know what ashy colors are green tinted - which is where I started and also what I want to avoid. I just want a light brown color - no red, no green.
Any suggestions on what to do now?
I just colored my hair tonight, so maybe the red will fade..
