High serum sodium (high end of normal) can indicate that there is a higher sympathetic nervious system response.

Any ideas such as:

Angiotensin II receptor antagonists such as ATACAND (candsartan cilextil)

Or APRESOLENE (hydralazine hydrochloride) whose main indication is to lower blood pressure with a side effect of reducing the sodium content of the cells.

I know the autonomic nervous system is broken.

Would like to lower heart rate and blood pressure would be welcomed on an acute basis.
Pain relievers do reduce the BP and heart rate.

It makes more sense to slow down the response of the sympathetic nervous system by reducing serum sodium in the cells.

Any ideas?

This is how I try things with willing docs. Not sure I have one anymore. The less chance of a major side effect, the better the chances.
