Recently these peculiar lump 'things' have appeared on my (index) finger. They are almost like blisters and my friend suggested that they could be from writing but the way I hold a pencil can't really affect this unfortunate finger. I'm not that worried about them to be completely honest but it has now spread to the other finger... They aren't really sore unless something digs in etc. It looks like the top of my finger is swollen. At first it was one lump but then it became two and later developed into a swollen lump. Its not pretty. It is right under the bottom of the nail if that helps. I would see a doctor but I don't know if it is completely necessary. They are not warts, they don't look like warts. Its just a weird lump slightly red. If you know what these crazy thingys are then do share your magic words...

If they aren't from extended use like pencil rubbing etc. I would suggest a dermatologist.
I guess it depends how much they bother you if you want to go that route.

This sounds like some kind of poison ivy or poison sumac or poison oak to me. Try spraying with 91% isopropyl alcohol to dry the bumps up. You can also spray the blisters with it and have them clear up as well. Probably got this from your garden and didn't realize it. Sounds like something I had for 2 summers now that I picked up in my yard.

You know being me I think its blisters from hot water (from the tap) and its sort of 'dying down' also I'm not too sure if scotland or anywhere in Britain has poison ivy but thanks for the suggestion :]
I shall take care on my quests in the forests :P
