If my motor has gotten wet and cannot be saved, how hard is it to replace the motor? My house air conditioner motor went out recently and it was fairly easy to replace myself, and much cheaper than the AC repair guy led me to believe it should be. All I had to do was take the motor out and take it to my local Motor Works shop, and they sold me a brand new one. Can I do the same thing with my DW motor?

Most new motors come in a kit with new gaskets/seals. The job will be a bit more difficult due to lack of room under the unit. You will need new gaskets and seals for your unit since you never use the water sealing gaskets a second time or you will be doing the job all over again since the old gaskets will leak.
