Since my fiancé and I have gotten engaged I always buy a bottle of champagne for the day we got engaged. I usually buy a bottle of Perrier-Jouet. But since money is a tight this year I was wondering what would be a good champagne that is just not as expensive as Perrier-Jouet. Thanks!

I like Korbel, it's not expensive but has a nice flavor. FYI I'm not much of a wine drinker, I prefer a nice reisling. Most wines taste nasty to me.

Now, I'm not up to speed with the availability in the USA, being a Brit, but Heidsieck Blue Top (Dry Monopole) would also be a good choice.
Now admittedly PJ is an excellent choice of Poo, but a small grower champagne might be worth a shot. There are a lot of bargains to be had with some careful shopping.
I'm sure there is a specialist bottle store that would be able to offer advice and suggestions.
