I have a lease through May (5 months left), however, I was recently laid off and because of my situation (1099 employee) I am not getting unemployment. I have no funds coming in and I have no way of paying my rent. My parents have offered for me to stay with them until I get back on my feet. I lost my rental agreement, so I am not sure of the language in it, so I don't know how it's worded.
Anyway, I am also having a lot of issues with my roommate. We are friends and knew each other before being roommates. However, he has a friend who stays over 4-5 nights a week and they always make tons of noise. I put up with it until about 2 in the morning and I end up asking them to quiet down, but it does nothing. I have asked him to not have his friend over quite so much, but it doesn't seem to work because he always shows up. His friend even invites his friends over and when I make it known that this isn't OK, it ends up on deaf ears.
The landlord is friends with my roommate, so I am worried that it won't help if I complain to the landlord and I don't want my living situation to be miserable for the time I am stuck here.
What are my options?
