My 1995 Honda Accord's a several symptoms that may be from one problem. It began first with the speedometer needle surging continuously form zero to the speed I was traveling, then while using my cruise control if I would change lanes the cruise would go off and the speedometer would begin the surging again. I thought there may be a problem in the steering column. Now my Drive light ( D )on the insturment panel has started flashing and it seems to do this when either the speedometer is not working properly or when I reach a certain speed. Today the Check Engine light came on and does not come on until 5-10 min. of driving and now I have noticed today when the car was coasting there is a surging sound coming from the engine.

What could this be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Note:I did look in Honda Booklet it stated that the flashing Drive light indicated there was something wrong with the transmission but it seems since it began with the other eletrical problems in the insturment panel that itcould be eletrical in insturment panel or steering column.
