:confused:we have an intermitant problem, whenwe turn on or turn off a light or sometimes unplug something the consumer unit will occasioally trip? It has also tripped during the daytime when nothing is being used. What coud be the problem please?

Exactly what is tripping? An RCD may just be defective. Best to call in an electrician.

Mis, a consumer unit is a panelboard or breaker box, typically used in Europe, UK, Etc.

Ahh... thanks for the info. My experience and familiarity is in the greatest country in the world... the U. S. A.
