The movie is very old, I think it was in black and white or just very subdued colors. The story was about an Irish or Scottish military unit who's base commander had been with them for years. The soldiers danced in kilts to the music of bagpipes for their daily physical training, and drank and partied every night. They had tremendous commradery, then a new commander is sent who is appalled by what he finds and sets out to change everything, of course crumbling the morality of the unit and driving a wedge between him and the soldiers.
There was probably more going on than what I recall but it has been many years since I watched it with my Grandfather who has since passed away. I would love to find the title so I can share the movie, which was one of my Grandfather's favorites, with family members.
