I have been told that my central air conditioning unit needs a new Honeywell 3-way water pump. The technician who evaluated my unit has rigged it so that the valve is now open all the time and I am able to have ac. This was a temporary measure until he could return with the new valve. He has quoted me a price of $700 to replace the valve. Is this a fair price? I assume I cannot just leave the valve open indefinitely? Thank you.

The only water pump I know of to be used on an ac unit would be a condensate pump. Those do not cost 700 clams. Get a 2nd opinion.

Do you mean Honeywell 3 way valve... if so... do you have to pay for the water, how does you machine control the temp ( fan on/off or water valve on/off ( modulating) etc...
