Recently a fellow employee had a problem with her Honda starting. After charging the battery, the car had some symptoms which indicated a bad battery or bad charging system. After replacing the battery and having the alternator tested (good) at a parts shop, the problem didn't go away.
At an idle the check engine light is goes on. The dash lights and the headlights flicker (like a pulse) at any engine speed. Although the alternator tested good at the parts shop, when putting an analog meter on the battery when the car is running, the meter moves with the pulses. I suspect that the alternator is indeed bad, and that the parts shop equipment, being digital can't see the pulse so calls the alternator OK.
Any ideas, before I start taking the wiring system apart?
Thanks to all in advance...

Check for codes, since the CEL came on. I also suspect it's a bad alternator.
