Hi,

I have a Coleman BRCS0301BB AC and a gas based heting unit. I see 6 wires coming up to the thermosat -

Red
Blue
White
Yellow
Green
Brown

I'm trying to install a new digital thermostat with 5 connectors -

Rh : Heating power supply
Rc : Cooling power supply
W : Heating signal
Y : Cooling Signal
G : Fan

Can anyone advise me on how to connect these and what to do with the spare wire?

Thanks,
Rochak

RH&RC jumpered to red: yel to cool:white to heat:green to fan: Tape off other to wires. This is normal providing these colors are connected to same at air handler

Yeah I have tried most of the solutions I have read about on several of these pages, yet no luck.

I have determined that the Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red, White wires go to the AC and
Additionally the Green, Red, White, Blue wires go to the Furnace.

So... how should I connect a five wire programmable thermostat?

Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks.

Try jump wore between rh and rc, hook red to any terminal of rh or rc
Then yellow to cooling
White to heat
Blue could be common or not used.
Brown cap off
