Hello! I have an Amana High Efficiency 80 SSE series Furnace. My problem is Burners are not lighting. On the Control Board I have a diagnostic light that is giving me a single flash, which according to the guide on the front of the controler says to lock-out, and inspect fan. I have pulled off the Burner cover, jumpered out the Thermostat, and fired up the unit. The Exh. Fan starts, the Blower starts, and then I can hear the little clicking noise like it is trying to fire the ignitor. As near as I can tell I can not see if it is sparking, or getting the ignitor hot. When the system tries to start the ignitor I can only hear one click, there are not multiple clicks like it is continually trying to start the ignitor.

Thank You!

If you do not see a glow from the ignitor during the ignition trial, it has likely failed. Usually a visual inspection of the ignitor will confirm this (cracked element).

I second that,I'd say it's an ignitor problem. Is the clicking coming from the gas valve?
