Hello... My first time here. Well to summerize while attempting to take a shower. I pulled up on the diverter rod for the shower to come on, took a shower, finished then press down to turn off the shower and it fell apart down in the drain and got lost. I would love to avoid taking the expensive way out, which is buying a whole new faucet head and installing it. I've also found out the methods I used, that there is no way of getting just the rod. So now I am sort of clueless as of what should I do. I went through the great lengths of calling plumbers and googling "faucet diverter" "diverter rod" etc. Nothing... and unfortunately it's impossible to find the manufacturers for this rod because there is no carving or print on the parts and faucet. I also threw away the box a long time ago. I'm obiviously in distress and in wonder of what to do. Picture a man in distress. Don't.:D

Thank you

Hi Tinfoseeker...

This should not be too bad all in all. You should just need to remove your DIVERTER TUB SPOUT and take it to the home depot for a replacement. I'll bet the replacement is under $20.00 , too... :)

Question is what type of diverter spout. A threaded type that spins off counterclockwise or one that has an allen head screw on the underside of the slip-fit spout... see pictures below. The allen screw type has the allen screw set into the spout deep to the pipe... spin spout a little to access the screw if needed... ;)

See if you can remove the old spout easily (may need an allen wrench). If you can take to the depot or a local plumbing supply house... they should have something that will work!

Let me know how you make out...
