I am installing a garbage disposal in a double sink - left sink is slightly smaller than the larger bowl on the right. On which side should the disposal be placed on?

Choice is really up to you. I have noticed, however, that most people place the disposal in the smaller sink.

Mark gave you excellent answer. Evey homeowner has different preferences. From my experience, also, we install GD onto smaller sink bowl.
