Hi,
I see that SSN tax is being deducted and I wanted to know is there an option not to pay the SSN tax... For I am not a resident of US,nor a green card holder... I am on work permit visa L1. I guess I don't have any SSN benefits..
Thanks
Kevin

Kevin:
Sorry; even though you will NOT qualify for Social Security, the Social Security tax is valid for L-1 workers.
The payment of the tax may be transferred to the equibvalent program in your home country IF your home country and the U.S. have a totalization agreement in place.

To my knowledge, there is NO totalization agreement between the U.S. and India.
The listing of the existing agreements are contained in IRS Pub 519.
