I recently took my car to the mechanic because it would not turn on. He replaced the computr and the "bubina" in the distributor. Then on my way to work the "check engine" light turned on. For some reasons the RPM in my car was higher than usual.

Later, on my way home, the temperature was high on the display (the engine light was no longer on). Then my car started smoking.

What do I do? Did the mechanic mess with somethig?

Begin by checking for codes--here's how:

Was the smoking coming from coolant overheating under the hood? If so, this link may help:

Don't drive the car if it's overheating; otherwise, you can warp the aluminum head, damage valves, and blow the head gasket. Instead, have the car towed to the dealer for servicing.
