I have an ESTATE by Whirlpool Gas Clothes Dryer. It started kicking off in the middle of the cycle because it was overheating. I had a dryer guy come out and he changed the thermostat, the hi and low end regulators, traced all the wires back to the source and we are still having issues. He did notice that the gas burner is not shutting off. Any ideas? I don't want to be charged for hours of not finding the problem!!

The contact points in the timer could be defective/welded closed causing the burner to stay on all the time no matter where the timer is set. Remove the signal source from the timer to the burner circuit and you can prove that point. If all those parts were replaced because of this problem then mistakes were made by not correctly diagnosing the problem from the start.

I will also add that as a safety the motor end switch also has a set of contacts that control the boiler. It is a safety system that prevents the gas burner from operation without the motor turning.

Thank you! I ran the dryer last night and when I use the Low Heat timed cycle it works perfectly. When I use the Auto Sense Drying cycle, the burner will stay on for about 20 minutes then kick off and the dryer will completely stop.
Aything I get from this site I am passing onto my dryer guy!!
Thanks so much

Could be the sensor is out of range allowing the unit to think the drying is done when it actuallt is not finished drying.
