I have a valve-type diverter in my shower (it's the middle of the three knobs, the others are the hot and cold, but I don't know the manufacturer). This morning I was finished with my shower and I wanted to switch it from shower to tub, but when I turned the knob nothing happened. I MIGHT have felt a slight snap or something similar as I turned it... but I also might have imagined that.

In any case, I turned off the water. Now when I turn it back on, some water comes from the tub and some from the shower. Turning the diverter knob does nothing, no matter which direction or how far I turn it.

Any thoughts?

I have only one bathroom and with the in-laws in town for the holiday this isn't the best time to be without a shower!

Thanks!

Check and replace any worn or broken washers. Now check the seats for nicks or rough spots. While you have the valve open turn on the water to flust out any trash that maybe remaining in the valve body. Reassemble and test. Better now? If not then click on back and tell me about it.
