If you know someone that is on probation for a felony conviction and has violated their probation, how do you report this? Her probation is 2 years past the 5-year probation she was given. She is months behind in restitution. She has re-married, changed her name, changed addresses, and does not work a public job. I think she is hiding from her probation officer. She needs to pay her debt just like everyone else does. This is in Rowan County, NC. Thank you for your help!

Well, you could call the probation dept in that county and ask to speak to her probation officer. Chances you won't be able to speak directly to the PO, but you can talk to someone who is willing to take down whatever information you have on this particular person and pass it along to her PO. Be sure to have her present name, address and where she works (if you know all or part of these answers, great). Then it is up to the probation officer to go check it out for himself and if she in fact did change her name and address without formally notifying the PO dept, she'll be in violation and have to attend a violation hearing and face the consequences. The fact she's in arrears with her restitution I'm sure they will pay attention to your call.

Remember, you are opening a can of worms here, the payback from someone turned in for this could be severe, and she is married, he isn't going to go away,he might be resentful and try something,I suggest caution in this action.
