My joists are 71/4"x11/2"by 16" centres is this strong enough to support a bath upstairs, if not what can I do to make it strong enough thanks steve

If I'm reading you correctly you have 2 X 8" joists witrh 16" centers. This ought to be plenty of support but I'll wait for the construction guys to chime in. Good luck, Tom
