I have a generator with a twin 16 hp briggs. The engine starts right up runs fine for 14 minutes. After 14 minutes, it shuts down cold, & can be restarted immediately. It does not appear to be a fuel problem. I believe it is the low oil pressure shutdown function. If I disconnect the control board, it will run for 4 minutes prior to shutdown. How does one test this function. Since I am good about oil levels, this function is no more than "belts & suspenders" --If I can't fix it, I'd rather bypass it. Any advice on doing either?

I have timed these run cycles several times. It has to be a function of the control board, I just don't know what type of input it is loking for.

Hi,
I seriously doubt the oil sensor to be at fault. At any rate you simply disconnct it as it only grounds out the ignition.
My first suggestion is to replace the fuel filter since this is a maintenace item and check for improvement. It does sound like a fuel problem. They can fool you, happens a bit too quick to suspect ignition.
Peace,
