Hi,
Two days ago I attempted to highlight my own hair at home (I know, stupid idea! But I have done it before with no problems) and my hair turned out to be a horrible bleached/orange mess.
So I then tried to dye it dark brown and it was OK yesterday but now has a very unnatural green tint! Any suggestions? Ideas? Will a professional be able to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

This has happened to me as well! It's horrifying, isn't it? Don't worry though, it's quite a simple thing to correct.
When this happened to me, I went to my hairdresser who put brown over it. But the most IMPORTANT thing is that the brown must must MUST have warm/golden/red tones. The principle behind it is that red is the opposite color to the bluish/green that you now have in your hair. I was blond at the time, and was told that you cannot lift the greenish/blue (not sure if that's entirely correct), the only way to get rid of it is to counter it with reddish golden tones. Buy 2 packets just in case you can still see the green after the first application.

Next time you want to go brown (and your hair is blond) you need to go backwards in the lightening process that bleach takes (red/orange/yellow) so you need a red filler before applying the (warm golden) brown - never using ashe browns in this situation.

Good luck!

Thanks for the advice!
I did end up getting it fixed by a professional and that's the same thing they told me. It's good to know for next time!
