I recently started my laptop and noticed that I have an 'error log' showing; hs_err_pid2916. How do you correct this error?

Searches show that that error log can be generated by Limewire or Java Virtual Machine. Installing the latest version of Java may help: Download Free Java Software - Sun Microsystems (http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp)

If it is Limeware can this be safely removed (uninstalled)?

Yes. It can be safely removed.

Probably should have asked a better question!! I have searched and found sites indicating how to delete various files in the 'registry' associated with Limeware. I'm not that computer savy! Can you perhaps provide a laymans version of how to uninstall Limeware (safely)?

Do it from Add/Remove Program in Control Panel. Then get CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/download) and do a Registry cleaning.
