View Full Version : Seeing a doctor without health insurance

I have no health insurance and am unemployed.

How can I get health coverage until I get a job?

I was (as much as I hate it) thinking of public aid but I'm single, live at home with parents and have no kids.

I don't think I qualify.
I have a friend who is my age and lives with her parents and gets public aid but she has kids.

I have gone to my 'free hospital/clinic' but that was a nightmare, after almost 11 hours of waiting I was told that I had a migrane. I have had mulitple symptoms for months now and know they are not migrane related. The doctor hardly listened to a word I said. I was treated like cattle.

The friend I mentioned earlier who has public aid can pretty much go to any doctor she wants as long as they take public aid. That's what I need.

Does anyone know how I would go about this?
Or any alternative ideas?

Why don't you contact the local health dept and ask them if you qualify or not. If you don't try, you have no idea if you qualify or not.
