I live in GA. My husband has a situation that we are trying to get some information on and maybe someone has a similar case or knows someone. There's this woman that claims to have had his child 8 years ago. Now... there is a possibility the child is his. However, no paternity test has been done. He has been paying her money every money for the last year. Now this is the situation. The woman lied about the child being his for the first 5 years of the child's life. When it came out that the child might be his the woman asked him to give up his rights so her husband could adopt the child. For the last 3 years since he has known about this child he has little to no contact what so ever with this child. He has no relationship with her and his name isn't even on the birth certificate. And now that the woman's marriage is rocky she want money. Does anyone know of anything. There has got to be some kind of law on my husband's side. You can't lie about something and then get money just because you're not happy with your current relationship. If anyone knows anything please let us know! Thanks you

I think you should visit a Family Law attorney, first require a paternity test, he hasn't accepted rights by signing a birth certificate so they should allow a paternity test. Pending the outcome, you should require that all child support paid previous be repaid, if the law allows it. It will at least answer whether you should be paying child support in the future.
