I think I installed the fan about five years ago and I can't find the manual. There was a light previously in the spot with a switch on the wall. It was a three way switch as there was another switch on the far wall. The fan has five buttons and one sliding off/on switch. Four control the fan speed and one controls the light on the fan and it is a dimmer button that as you hold it the light cycles through going on to fully on to off and back to fully on as you continue to hold it... hope you know what I mean? There are two wires coming out of the switch on the wall. The Fan is wired to a black receiver box which I installed. Everything has been working fine until recently. The light cycling up and down does not work. It is stuck in the on position, which is fine, but i can't dim it. I can turn it off by switching everything off with the sliding switch at the bottom of the wall switch.
I started looking on the Internet and noticed that maybe I had to replace a battery. I took the wall switch out... no battery... I took the ceiling fan cover off to look at the receiver and I can't find any battery for that either? There was a small door at one end, I opened it but all I saw were a couple yellow capacitors (I think) and I couldn't see where I could open it up any further. So now I'm thinking I don't have a battery issue. Do I need to replace the switch or both the switch and the receiver. And then, where can I get them??
