I am using Microsoft excel 2007. From the data on the spreadsheet I want to insert bar graph displaying percentages (like a pie graph).
I am doing a scientific report for uni... and as part of it I have surveyed 41 people on what memory strategies they use at home, work or uni. When I apply the data to a bar graph it shows the 'amount' of people... and that looks crappy... it would be more effective showing the percentage of people...
Anyway I know Ive got to do some sort of formula... like =(41*100... I just don't know... Ive tried everything... surely it must be simple... the formula has to have the number of people surveyed... 41...
Geez I hope Im not to confusing in my explanation...

That's OK I think I know what you're after.

Look, you have data in one format and want to chart it in another? The data is raw "numbers of people who answered this way" and what you want is "number of people who answered this way out of 41 shown as a percentage."

That's not the same thing.

Fastest way is another chart of data next to your first set that converts it into percentages. The first answer was 2, so that converts to 2/41 which is roughly 5%. You continue this until you have all the percentages. Then highlight one of the new columns and chart THAT.
