I have been looking at various dishwashers and am unsure of which one to buy. I am also unsure of how to make the right decision about plumbing needs: 1 1/2" vs 2" etc. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher many years ago that had the built in garbage disposer in it. You could put just about anything in the dishwasher except bones and the thing would work great. It had a stainless steel interior also. One drawback on this model was the price. It was almost double what the other models were at the time but I'll tell you one thing - I wish I still had it now!! Best darned dishwasher I ever had. I vote for Maytag any day. I now have a GE NAutilus plane jane model. Cleans okay but I have to remove the bigger pieces of food off the plates or the thing clogs up. Oh, to have my Maytag back! I used it every day several times a day sometimes for 10 years with no problems whatsoever ever with that machine.
