:p I really hate mowers. My mom just bought a new oldish riding lawn mower. Once we got a new battery it ran great the only problem was that the blade wasn't cutting but we got that problem solved. :o :o we just had to apply the attachment clutch. After that it was running great then it ran out of gass and has not started since we refilled the gas tank. My mom thinks it has something to do with the battry cable because there is some nasty greenish stuff on the negative side. I do not the first thing about a riding lawn mower all I know is I hate them.:p can any one help?

Does it turn over?
That greenish stuff is corrosion, take the cables off and scrub them good with a mix of baking soda and water and put them back on, I use liquid wrench or wd-40 (both are almost the same) on the terminals to keep them from doing it.
One thing that's bad to do, is run it out of gas... if it got a little trash in the tank, it'll stay in there until the gas is run out, and either clog the little screen in the tank, or the fuel filter, if these are not there... the carb.
Any corrosion on the cables will cause it not to have a good connection. What brand mower?
