Previous responses to this question center around the "thermal limiter". I ordered one but can't find the part in the dryer. The problem is that when you turn the "start" knob you get a humming sound from the back of the dryer. Does this sound like the limiter, or does this sound like a different problem?

Sounds like a stuck or bad motor or broken belt.
