I am Sacramento based small fleet with 3 box trucks. But I want to expand my trucking to interstate. Because several friends of mine are owner operators in the long hual and get their loads from other trucking company. They asked me if I could find loads for them. If I get Interstate authority for my fleet, Is it hard to find load for them? Any answers from all kind people will be greatly appreciated. God bless you.

I used to work at a trucking company that had a dry van division and a tank division. The van division would generally use load brokers to get their loads from. A load broker can make a very good living just brokering the loads from manufacturing companies to trucking companies to get the product to the final location. i.e. WallyWorld would use a national trucking company to take their loads to a distribution center from the manufacturer. If the national trucking company didn't want the load, they would call the company I used to work for and "broker" the load to them. The original national trucking company would be paid for the load and then pay the second company to actually haul it.
