KK... I am pretty new in my group of friends and one of there older friends (time wise not age) came over the other day and we talked and had a good time. So I mention to my friends that she was good looking and very smart and seemed very mature for her age( which seems to be more than me I am 19 {-.- } yeah I know but I like to think of myself as more mature than others my age}.. and she's 17). So a couple of weeks go by and she comes over again and my friends mentions that I though she was "Hot Stuff" -->.> my words not what he said ^^. So They call me and get me over there and we flirt it up a bit and I get her number (First Time I ever did this cause I never tried before cause I deemed myself not mature enough). So I call her up after a couple of days and she wants to hang out and go to a band that's playing at a party. So I pick her and can't find the damn place so we just hangout and Talk. Well She is a very strong women and very assertive and learned how to push a guy's buttons from my gay friend who hits on me -.-( yeah I know... Least someone finds me attractive). Well anyway we start talking and she gets me talk how nervus** I am and a whole bunch of that shouldn't be talked about on a first date( I believe) well she opens up too but not as much. Then some stuff happens ( not sexual... but well I don't know? ) It was like I was Talking to a very close friend the whole time except I didn't know this person other than what I hear from friends. Then we started talking about what we want out of relationships and such and I mention that I am not sure that's why I am looking.. >.>.. but not some Fling or "Bedbuddies". So she then says "OHHHH you want a long lasting relationship" she sound like she was put off. I retort with no but I want someone that it will mean something too no matter how short. So she says your kind of looking for something with a slower pace than I thought and I said well yeah I don't know what I am doing... Then I take her home Hug her good night (thats it >.>) She then calls me and we talk for a minute and she mentions lets take it slow.

Well I am so damn confused cause she sounded interested in me till I took her home.
And she said a similar thing to a friend which meant no thank you. I mean I just thought she was very pretty and smart then after we talked I decided I was into her and interested even if it meant just friends. Well anyway thanks for reading this long rant of a 19 year who knows nothing and is ingnorant and that's why I come to you for wisdom and experience please help me interpret this mess I told ^^

At your age and the girl being 17 if it was a sexual thing it could be taken as statuatory rape and you could have that to deal with the rest of your life. So In my opinion taking it slow is really a smart and mature thing to do. Some people feel that the only way to have friends is through sex. Or that sex is a way to show affection. You sound like you are interested in the person and getting to know that person on a real intimant level before sex enters the picture. Good for you. Just being a friend and building a real friendship first will lead to lasting relationships. Took me a long long time to understand that in my own marriage.
