I am in the process of having a stall shower installed and the handyman has cut a large hole in the wall to get the shower handle through the side of the shower. This hole will be covered up by the metal covering for the shower handle but I'm concerned that there's such a large hole under the cap. Should I purchase new walls?

[QUOTE][I'm concerned that there's such a large hole under the cap. Should I purchase new walls? /QUOTE] Most new tub and shower valve come with a round plastic "rough in plate". This tells the installer how large to cut the hole. The chrome cover plate that covers the hols has a sponge rubber gasket that seals the opening. If the chrome cover plate's larger then the opening you should be just fine. Good luck, Tom
